AMERICAS Manager Technical Sales

Job Description

Position Summary:

The AMERICAS Manager TS takes responsibility in the management of the Technical Sales Consultants (TSCs) teams in North, Central and Latin America to deliver technical support in commercial opportunities, promote and sell company products by demonstrating the advanced technical functions of the product as well as its uses and benefits. The role carries a quota equivalent to the sum of all the AMERICAS Annual Booking Quotas.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage a team of approximately 10 Technical Sales Consultants to deliver technical sales support to assigned accounts.
* Achievement of Digital Science bookings goal in partnership with the sales team.
* Ensure execution by the team of the developed sales strategies and plans.
* Understand software product functionality and applications for market areas.
* Develop and implement strategy for technical product demonstrations delivery across the sales regions for the Digital Science portfolio.
* Implement best practices for approval of sales requests of technical sales resources.
* Implement best practices for technical evaluation and response to RFPs, in partnership with sales reps and services staff.
* In partnership with regional and global sales directors, hire technical sales staff in AMERICAS.
* Evaluate technical sales team members for performance and continued development.
* Work with Director of Technical Sales to develop and report metrics for team utilization.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

* Requires a Bachelors degree in Degree in Science, Engineering or Information Technology.
* 7+ years experience in technical roles in the enterprise scientific software industry.
* 5+ years management experience.
* Experience within the pharmaceutical or process industry pharmaceutical or mining industry or consumer products or oil and gas or related scientific industry.
* Understanding of information technology and enterprise information management solutions and their benefits.
* Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals, manage time, tasks and risks, meet deadlines and manage heavy workloads.
* Proven ability to communicate effectively, collaborate across teams and with stakeholders and to establish rapport and credibility at all levels.
* Proven ability to operate effectively in an environment of high complexity and change.
* Ability to manage change and resolve conflict.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Very strong customer focus.
* Multi-lingual proficiency is a plus.
