What Youll Do

The Associate Manager, Experience Design is a knowledgeable designer with a proven track record of bringing innovative design solutions to life. You will lead, co-create, develop and execute total experiential designs for multiple brands with deliverables spanning consumer experiences, retail point-of-sale and digital experiences. Successful candidates will demonstrate superior ability to partner with the Brand Design lead and Experience Design lead to deliver quality creative solutions for physical, graphic and interaction-design challenges. In this role, you will continue developing your Design Thinking capabilities and be able to apply these methodologies to help drive projects from ideation to execution. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver quality brand design solutions. You should be comfortable working with architects, engineers and contractors to bring your vision to life.
The ideal candidate will also be versatile in 3D renders for experimental typography, packaging beauty shots, retail point of sale concepts and basic animations.

Accountabilities:

* Design Project Management: Responsible for partnering across disciplines within PepsiCo and external suppliers to ensure design assets are developed and delivered with quality, value, and on-time. Act as a key project resource to help develop experiential brand ideas and deliver project tasks within given deadlines. Collaborates with key stakeholders throughout the creative process. Regularly participates in project status reviews to verify that project deliverables are being met.
* Brand Design Development: Under direction of the Brand Design Director and Experience Design Director, you will help develop visual brand identity for specific brands in the portfolio, working in collaboration with other design leaders cutting across brand, product, packaging, marketing equipment, and advertising. You will help generate creative design proposals (visions, scenarios, concepts) and review with internal and external stakeholders. This role participates in research activities and effectively translates customer needs into actionable design requirements and solutions.
* Support the PepsiCo Design Organization in PepsiCo Beverages North America: Partners regularly with the Brand Design, Commercial Marketing, Marketing Comms and Sports Marketing teams. Shares his / her work and supports the development of design culture in the broader team.
* External Design Network: Supports the PepsiCo Design Organization in building and cultivating a strong external design network.

Qualifications/Requirements

* Create process and final project visualization: renderings and sketches based on direction and feedback from Brand Design and Experience Design leads for internal and external deliverables
* Creating high quality experience design solutions by directly executing design and leveraging internal/external design resources.
* Design in alignment to evolving brand standards with emphasis on brand consistency
* Accurately produce brand playbook assets/imagery
* Present design concepts in a clear and concise manner (excellent presentation skills are required)
* Quickly sketch ideas to create and communicate concepts
* Ideate and construct ideas within a team-based design environment
* Consistently meet project deadlines and maintain a high level of work while managing multiple projects
* Participate and contribute to brainstorm sessions and consistently use sense of creativity, foresight and good design judgment in developing and applying marketplace trends

Experience Required:

* Through past experience and case studies, shows strong ability to create and enhance design experience at all points of consumer brand interaction
* Minimum 5+ years with environmental, retail, brand design experience, BFA or BS in design or scenography
* Solid interior design, product design, retail point of sale design and graphic design experiences
* Experience with 3D modeling programs: Rhinoceros, Sketchup, Solid works or other
* Experience with 3D rendering software: Key shot, V Ray, 3DMax, Cinema 4D or other
* Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
* Freehand sketching
* Ability to manage/conceptualize graphic design
* Working knowledge of model making/prototyping, materials and production processes
* Ability to multitask is paramount. Excellent time and project management skills
* Should be comfortable and confident in being able to assist in bringing their ideas to life in the built environment, working with architects, engineers and contractors
* Ability to get things done through formal and informal channels
* Works well with others to deliver results; keeps others informed and can share successes broadly
* Proven ability to effectively incorporate research (including primary and secondary research) in strategic design processes
* Track record of building strategic efforts across business units through identification of market trends, consumer and consumer behavior.
* Can effectively envision and address idea feasibility
* Strong project management and design management skills
* Compelling presentation and proposal skills
* Ability to work in ambiguous and dynamic work environment; is comfortable with risk and uncertainty
* Must be willing and able to travel 20% of the time
* An excellent sense of pop culture, tech, graphic design and design trends
* Extraordinary design taste and skill
