As a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) at Micron and located near major OEMs, you will serve as a primary technical contact for Microns customers and various departments within Micron. You will be part of a high impact FAE team that will be highly visible and will be driving deep technical engagements with customers using Advanced Memory products for next generation mobile applications. This will be a customer facing engineering role focused on driving Design Wins, doing system level debug and solving customer technical issues. You will be expected to establish a relationship with the OEM Design & Engineering teams to drive revenue and market share along with Sales and Marketing teams.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Working to attain design wins and qualifications of Micron products, you will be the technical subject matter expert in the field for LPDDR or eMMC/UFS product, collaborating with other departments to ensure customer approach, deliverables, and priorities are being met for customer applications.
* Providing technical support to customers and the field sales force. Support includes applications advice, product recommendations, device testing/updating at customer site, material management, technical problem resolution, and quality issue resolution.
* Working with and driving internal marketing and development teams to determine the feasibility of specific new products, packaging or features and ensuring customer specifications are met.
* Submitting and responding to product specification and technical/quality questionnaires submitted by customers.
* Identifying and communicating the needed customer focused collateral (e.g., product guides, cross references, advertisements, etc.).
* Working with customers to manage worldwide quality issues in customer manufacturing and field you will perform in-lab debug and problem solving with the customer at their sites and/or at Micron labs and providing internal strategic direction for customer systems applications and quality related objectives through collaboration with global field support teams.
* Supporting customer Quality audits and follow-up to ensure closure of audit findings/action items.
Qualifications
* Design, product, test, support, system, or applications engineering experience in mobile or embedded applications using LPDDR4 and/or eMMC/UFS memory products. (at least 5 years of experience)
* Systems experience, including:
* LPDRAM bus interface debug, including initialization, training, timing and signal analysis techniques
* Understanding of LDRAM architecture
* Strong understanding of SI/PI design principles
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of techniques for managed NAND with experience performing system level debug
* Firmware development, testing and validation experience
* Integration and performance validation of memory and/or memory controllers
* Memory Controller design for either LPDDRx or eMMC/UFS
* Experience in mobile system performance measurement and power management techniques
* Ability to demonstrate problem solving and troubleshooting skills including lab testing (oscilloscope and logic analyzer usage) and debug
* Excellent verbal, written, and customer communications skills
* The ability to be self-motivated, take initiative, and to work independently or in a team environment.
* The ability to work with engineers across multiple disciplines, as well as customers of various positions including executive level interaction.
* Detailed knowledge of NAND Flash.
* Excellent PC usage skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
* Quality and Reliability experience is a plus.
* Excellent English skills, both oral and written.
* Ability to travel for up to 25% of time.
Education:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
