Payments Process & Systems Director

Job Description

Facebook is seeking a seasoned professional with deep expertise in Financial Institutions to provide strategic guidance as we enable the growth of Facebook's commerce and payments Accounting function. This leadership role is accountable for partnering with a large variety of cross-functional stakeholders to optimize the payment processes, systems and controls with an eye to modernizing the foundational tools used by the finance and broader community to enable scalable solutions to support business growth and address risks. This leader is required to drive continual enhancement of our payment landscape, enhance our internal controls and mitigate financial reporting risks by closely collaborating with global finance teams, Engineering, Compliance and Product functions and other internal and external resources. This position will report to the Payments Controller and will have three direct reports.

Payments Process & Systems Director Responsibilities

* Partner with cross functional leadership to drive governance and oversight across the Payouts and other payment initiatives

* Play a key role in supporting the payments community by contributing to the overall payment strategy and vision

* Partner with the Payments community to develop strong reportable and repeatable KPIs, metrics etc. Collaborate with partnership and other teams to address fee leakages, drive accounting SLAs, data integrity & quality, take-rate analysis etc. with the payment providers

* Partner with 1st and 2nd line of defense to review the Payments and Commerce Ecosystems E2E. Identify emerging risks to the ecosystem and partner with the cross-functional stakeholders to solution the gaps

* Maintain a thorough E2E understanding of the Ecosystem (upstream and downstream) process, systems and technology controls. Identify the emerging risks (e.g. local processors) and drive holistic solutions

* Play a key role in analyzing the process gaps and dependencies for payment and commerce products, that cause delays during the month-end-close

* and work with other finance team members to enable quicker close

* Analyze problems, formulate solutions and alternatives for process and system solutions that achieve desired results timely and in a cost-efficient manner

* Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, primarily Product and Engineering teams, to Implement standards and best practices for supporting Payments system, process and controls to keep Facebook safe

* Engage with Finance teams globally and other cross-functional stakeholders including Engineering, Compliance and Product to ensure E2E process, system and control flows are scalable, automated and flexible to address future business needs

* Be a change agent and drive futuristic changes within the Payments community

Minimum Qualifications

* 12+ years of experience in Corporate Accounting or Finance

* Working accounting system and operations knowledge

* Management experience both managing a team and cross-functional experience

* Experience executing in a dynamic, high speed and demanding environment by demonstrating organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and prioritization skills

Preferred Qualifications

* Deep Payments Industry, E- Commerce and Marketplace experience

* Strong Payment Systems experience to enable understanding and conversations

* Solid understanding of payments third party risk solutions, KYC/KYB experience etc.

* In depth understanding of payment provider operations, fee structures including foreign currency
