Facebook relies on a strong ecosystem of third party developers to build on top of our experiences to enable business and consumers do have richer experiences. Our ecosystem of developers build everything from messenger bots, games, apps to enable business, AR/VR solutions, and more. They impact more than 80% of Facebooks revenue and enable the whole ranges of businesses using Facebook, from the largest multinational companies to the smallest neighborhood shops. This ecosystem is essential to enable Facebook to achieve its mission of building communities. The Developer Platform product teams work on a wide range of problems like ensuring secure elections, protecting user data, building easy and intuitive interfaces for our Developers, thinking about the future of e-commerce and many more. We are looking for a Data Science Leader that will help the us build a strong and resilient platform that supports the growth of the wide ranges of business and consumer developers while also protecting users data and building stable secure infra. An ideal candidate will have experience in: A broad background in solving common data science problems like interface efficiency, infra quality and stability, growing products, risk & integrity, etc. Leading Data Scientists and Data Science Managers in solving difficult problems. Communicating with leadership.

Data Science Director, Developer Platform Responsibilities

* ML and advanced statistics to identify the highest leverage investments on the Platform

* Using data to understand the complex ecosystem of developers and the businesses/consumer that rely on them

* Using data to understand the quality of our systems and Developer tools

* Setting best practices for building and supporting third party platforms, to be adopted throughout the company

* Using data to strength and enable our engineering teams to strengthen the infrastructure the platform lives on

Minimum Qualifications

* 5+ years experience managing a team of analysts, data scientist.

* Experience in cross-functional partnership among teams of Engineering, Design, PM, Data Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

* Supporting platforms/multi-party ecosystems
