Job Description This position coordinates promotional and new item purchases with customers, buyers, suppliers and operations. Working in conjunction with national account managers and representatives, this position aids in meeting supplier order dates and customer ship windows. Also assists with residual cleanup and financial reporting. Functions as a team member within the department and cross-functions, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Directs buyers on what to purchase for upcoming menu changes and promotions in retail, vending, theatre and hospitality channels.
Monitors inbound purchases, investigate and resolve supplier or carrier issues to ensure on time delivery.
Communicates with manufacturer representatives and/or brokers on pricing, quantities, availability dates, etc. for new and promotional items.
Leads weekly meeting with national account managers/representatives, operations and inventory control with regards to promotional activity.
Tracks fees charged to suppliers as outlined in Vistar Routing Guide.
Tracks and reports inventory dollars in and out for the finance department.
Ensures data integrity of items database by coordinating setup with the merchandising department.
Communicates effectively in verbal and written format.
Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diplomas/GED or Equivalent
