Through the use of AutoCAD, new and existing layouts are drawn and designed to aid in plant expansion and equipment placement
The Manufacturing Engineers will have ideas or specific needs for such things as jigs/fixtures or workstations. The intern student works with the engineer and production personnel to develop a design that aids the manufacturing process
Different processes and assembly line operations can be studied by the use of videotape and/or timing equipment. The intern student gets involved with actual time studies by timing and/or taking videos of the work being performed on the shop floor and results are then put into meaningful data
Intern students may become involved in developing Gantt Charts that show the progression of projects. The student may also have the opportunities to manage projects from start to finish which may include activities such as establishing project timelines, financial analysis, procurement of materials, and establishing vendor contacts.
Interns will have the opportunity to investigate new technologies, tools and assembly practices to continuously improve our processes. They will be asked to work with cross functional teams and support efficiency and safety metrics.

Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering and Industrial Technology majors
Sophomore status
Have completed the following courses: Time & Motion Study, Computer Graphics, and Facilities Layout/Mfg. Cost Analysis
At least 1 year of experience with spreadsheet and word processing is required
Courses in Mfg. Materials and Processes, and Production and Operations Analysis or related courses would be beneficial

It serves the automotive OEM/tiers, commercial food equipment, construction, general industrial, and automotive aftermarket end markets. The company distributes its products directly to industrial manufacturers, as well as through independent distributors.
