Job Description:

Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts and supplies. Within parameters, determines routing and arrangements for shipments, considering such factors as nature of items being shipped, method of handling, size, urgency, and cost. Consults rate schedule for specific rates depending on method of shipment and/or distance shipped. Assesses most economical and efficient common or contract carrier, to transport shipments. Calculates and records storage, redelivery, and other applicable charges. May reroute urgent shipments of an urgent nature or arrange for special delivery at destination. Prepares and maintains records of products shipped and tracks shipments. Receives incoming materials, unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications. Maintains records of received goods, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents. Stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. Lifts heavy items and may operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, tow motors, forklifts, etc. upon receipt of internal certification. Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements. May perform wood shop functions such as operating power saws and nail guns in building skids and crates.

Essential Functions:

* Knowledgeable on Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Word and PPT)
* Utilizes Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
* Issues, coordinates and/or monitors flow of materials through the Surface Mount Technology staging and set-up areas to meet production requirements ensuring availability of materials to meet production requirements and delivery commitments.
* Works independently with general guidance. Interacts frequently with internal company contacts and customers.
* Analyzes material movement history data on internal systems to locate materials.
* Advises management and area lead of the work in progress status.
* Coordinates with manufacturing, quality and supply chain when material issues arise.
* Works with process engineers on process improvement projects and software optimization.
* Perform specific entry-level tasks related to feeder setup for Surface Mount Technology equipment while supporting the SMT Manufacturing Floor Stock Room.

Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
* Experience in inventory management.

Preferred Additional Skills:

* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
* Experience with MRP system
* Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of material handling procedures and EH&S; requirements.
* Organizational skills.
* Possess strong goal/deadline-oriented work ethic, high attention to detial and flexibility.
