Job Description
The Storage Technologies Group is responsible to path find and architect the future of storage for Intel. We delivered the architecture for the world's first Intel Optane SSD Building off ultralow latency media. We strive to deliver SSD and System innovations that improve data center systems at a very fundamental level. We have a culture of a singular focus on results and continuous learning through experiments. In this role the candidate will be responsible for identifying and quantifying new use cases made possible by high performance storage.
The candidate is expected to be hands-on and data driven including creating analytic models and validating through building proof of concepts empirical measurements or simulators.
The candidate will be part of a team that delivers compelling products.
The duration of the internship is targeted for a 36 months.
This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work, classes, research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Candidate must be pursuing a PhD in Computer Science Computer Engineering or related field
Minimum 6 months of experience or equivalent coursework in the following areas:
* Experience in data center workloads and use cases
* Experience in storage systems reliability
* Experience in systems hardware and software
* Experience in hands-on development of hardware or software prototypes
Preferred Qualifications:
* Programming in Python
* Knowledge or experience in computer architecture
* Experience and interest in the nonvolatile memory and storage domain and application of NVM technologies
