As a Network Engineer supporting the customer, you will be trusted to perform routine to moderately complex network designs and upgrades and provide advice and guidance on the most practical technical approach required to meet user requirements . In this role, a typical day will include:
* Utilizing network analysis tools to identify and resolve performance problems in the network,
* Troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels,
* Provide basic explanation of technical procedures and processes clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences, and
* Review user requests for upgrades or additions to the network.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
* Minimum of 15 years related experience.
* Technical Skills: Network engineering and design, including network and information security requirements, working knowledge of policies and procedures related to designing, upgrading, and maintaining enterprise networks.
* Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
* Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of theory and practice underlying satellite network operations

Provides expert knowledge for maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.

Provides expert knowledge for network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.

Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks.

Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Maintains current and advanced knowledge of progressive and advancing technology as assigned.

Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.

Provides expert guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel.

May serve as a task or project leader. (Not a people manager)

May consult with executives and customers to deliver complex network solutions.

Recognized as a subject matter expert in a specific technology.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 15+ years of experience
