Systems Administrator
Key Role:
Work under general supervision, maintain responsibility for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating system workstations and servers, including Web servers in support of networking requirements. Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages, schedule installations and upgrades, and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Monitor and tune the system to achieve optimum performance levels and ensure workstation or server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Ensure data or media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Support media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services. Develop and promote standard operating procedures. Conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
Basic Qualifications:
-6 years of experience with troubleshooting computer, hardware, and software and performing help desk support
-5 years of experience with network storage and systems, database administration, and application monitoring required to provision, sustain, operate, and integrate Cyber network systems and applications
-5 years of experience with Microsoft Windows operating platforms
-5 years of experience with using Microsoft Office
-Experience with troubleshooting issues related to Active Directory topology and related features in a domain environment
-Knowledge of networking concepts, including DNS, DHCP, email, HTTP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP protocols and applications
-Ability to work 8 hours daily on a core hour structure such as 0600-1400, 1000-1800 with a rotating Saturday schedule
-Secret clearance
-HS diploma or GED
-DoD 8570 IAT I Certification
Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with SQL Server 2012
-Experience with administering machines running Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, and RHEL 5.5+
-Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
-Knowledge of centralized patching and configuration solutions, including WSUS and the System Center Suite
-Ability to install software, operating systems, and drivers and maintain RAID controllers
-Ability to multi-task and work independently or in a team
-TS/SCI clearance
-Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Certification
-VMware Certified Professional (VCP) Certification
