Become a key part of our vision As a Software Engineer at NetApp, you will work as part of a team responsible for the development, testing and sustaining of a key component of the NetApp data management portfolio. As part of the Research and Development function, focusing on enhancements to existing products as well as new product development. This position requires an individual to be creative, enthusiastic, team-oriented, technology savvy and driven to produce results.

Job Requirements

* Experience in virtual and cloud environments is a strong plus (AWS, Azure, KVM, etc)
* Strong C/C++ application development experience or Python development experience.
* Experience with Linux/FreeBSD development.
* Understanding of multi-threaded & multi process environments.
* Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols and networking applications development is a plus.
* Knowledge of certificates, encryption, key management or other security related areas is a plus.
* Strong oral and written communication skills are essential
* Work collaboratively within a team environment of other engineers to meet aggressive goals and high quality standards
* Possesses sufficient technical knowledge and experience to pick up new expertise quickly with guidance from a technical leader
* Strong aptitude for learning new technologies
* A strong understanding of complex concepts related to computer architecture, data structures and programming practices
* Follow standard engineering principles and practices
* Resourceful in applying creative ideas to solve problems

Education

Typically requires a Bachelors degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
