What does an effective Vice President of Market Management do?
As the Vice President of Market Management, you will ensure that Fiserv delivers on its commitments to our financial institution partners. And you will serve a critical role in identifying and driving time to revenue for our retail P&L and client satisfaction in partnership with stakeholders across the organization. Our clients include some of Fiservs largest financial institutional partners and their downstream merchant partners and this role will assist with ensuring that the specific needs across our client FI segments are met and that Fiserv is seen as a market leader within each segment. In doing so, you will help to:
* Client Segmentation: Align on the existing client base and target prospects within a given segment in partnership with our Enterprise Client Partners, Account Managers, and Sales teams
* Client Engagement: Define the specific Fiserv credit value proposition, marketing assets and roadmap within each segment in partnership with our Marketing team, that helps to position Fiserv as a leader and tailor our set of capabilities to that particular segment
* Fiserv Leadership: Represent the Fiserv Credit team by meeting with clients, consult and translate their needs into the operational execution within Fiserv taking a leadership role both externally with clients and also internally to pull together necessary stakeholders and teams to execute on the client business / support need
* Internal Influence: develop influence within Fiserv to help lead the execution of the client need
Currently, we split the FI market into ten separate segments, such as national general purpose, subprime, fintechs, healthcare, group service provider (GSP), retail, etc. You will be responsible for helping to expand coverage across these segments and ensure we have the right talent in place to support them.
We see significant opportunity to leverage assets from across Fiserv for new, innovative solutions for our large institutional clients within their credit portfolio. With the combination of digital experiences and deeper integration between merchants, issuers and fintechs, we are seeing an acceleration of interest for new solutions that improve the customer experience and economics per transaction. In addition, we are seeing creative applications of our platform that flex to different segments / verticals and consumer demographics.
Fiserv is uniquely positioned in the market to support issuers with capabilities and solutions through banks, retail aggregators, issuers, fintechs and merchant direct. This role will focus on distribution, adoption and delivery of our solutions specifically tailored for each segment through our FI partner channels and will partner with a number of teams within Issuer Solutions and across the organization to drive the outcome, including merchant acquiring, fraud solution and lending, to deliver a best in class set of solutions for our institutional clients.
Specifically, you will be responsible for 1) delivering on identified opportunities for each segment, including investment into the core platform, front-end consumer experiences, expansion of new capabilities, 2) partnering with key stakeholders to ensure commercialization is fully complete for target products, 3) centrally managing all client discussions and delivery including with our top institutional clients, and 4) partnering closely with product, technology and other stakeholders to drive client definition and delivery.
This unique role will be central to putting Fiserv in a position of strength within our FI credit space and harnessing the best assets from across the company to solution a unique set of products and solutions. This position is a strategic member of the Credit Processing leadership team.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
* Build and develop a mature Market Management function, partnering closely with the existing team members for guidance and expanding team with industry experts
* Partner with program, project and implementation team of 50+ to deliver against client needs and business plans
* Enhance governance process to manage strategic client initiatives with centralized tracking of initiatives and progress
* Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for market management function, including segment revenue
* Drive performance against key P&L levers influencing time to revenue across the business
* Participate in client discussions and be a key influencer in communication and engagement strategy across the internal stakeholders
* Work closely with sales, development and product to ensure requirements are interpreted correctly in detailed design specifications and in the construction of the initiative or product assigned to internal teams ensuring details or direction dont fall through the cracks
* Perform as a key leader of furthering Fiservs Payments strategy by hiring, developing and retaining talent, as well as influencing organizational structure and expanding the overall knowledge across the enterprise
* Validate initiatives, including benefits and impacts of releases across the organization and clients
* Lead partnerships with key organizational stakeholders, including executive leadership, sales, marketing, operations, finance, legal, and others to ensure aligned portfolio and business success
* Provide market feedback to Credit Processing Leadership team regarding ideas for new offerings and client needs based on synthetization of intakes through the delivery process
* Define and execute strategies that will enable scaled adoption of products across key customers
* Design and develop improvement opportunities to gain efficiencies of project methodologies, deliverables, reporting and training to mature capabilities in service and delivery
* Prepare and communicate strategies while maintaining effective, on-going relationships with Client Executives
* Lead an annual, quarterly and monthly planning exercise in partnership with client and product teams to ensure expectations are effectively managed
* Generate new revenue growth by identifying opportunities to price servicing functions
* Actively lead the development of strategies and programs for large, strategically important regional and global clients
* Collaborate with Finance to establish a regular review model inclusive of revenue and expense measurement and reporting.
Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
* Bachelor's degree in business, operations or a related field required.
* 15+ years of experience with proven experience with partnership, credit operations and delivery; with most of the experience in leadership roles, operational consulting a positive
* 10+ years of experience in the Payments Industry
