At Three Rivers Behavioral Health, a 122 bed facility located in West Columbia, SC, we never forget that patients are people -- people with potential, who can have better relationships and live more productive lives. Three Rivers provides psychiatric, detoxification/rehabilitation, and dual diagnosis treatment through inpatient services for adolescents & adults. Our Outpatient services include a Partial Hospitalization Program offering psychiatric day treatment for adults and an Adult Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program offering day and evening sessions.
The Intake Counselor serves as the first point of contact for referral sources and potential patients to schedule assessments and/or admissions.
This position is every other Friday and Saturday 11p-715am
* Thoroughly assesses and completes the assessment tool for all clients as required by Three Rivers Behavioral Health.
* Assist clients in being admitted or referred out to the service or resource to best address their needs.
* Documenting findings, recommendations and outcome.
* Triage, insurance precertification, computer entry and data analysis & clinical documentation.
* Flexible hours/schedule available.

Qualifications
Job Requirements
* Associate or Bachelors in Nursing and current SC RN License OR a Masters degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work.
* Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
* Prefer knowledge of hospital admission functions, psychological assessment and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Understanding of EMTALA guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and third-party payer knowledge preferred.
