Responsibilities

Support the maintenance of a therapeutic milieu while providing for the direct care, welfare, safety and security of patients with emotional and/or psychological disorders in collaboration with the treatment team, (i.e.; Physicians, Teachers, Recreational, Therapists, Dietitian Nurses, Lead Clinical Staff and Mental Health Technicians), in compliance with JCAHO National Patient Safety Goals and other performance improvement indicators an Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.

Qualifications

Regulatory Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent. CNA certification. Two years experience as a nursing assistant preferred. CPI training required (provided). Current CPR certification Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills excellent communication skills both written and verbal. must be able to effectively communicate between doctors, therapists, patient, and other staff. machine operation a plus to include but not limited to the following; Telephone, Television, VCR, Radio, Copy machine, Shredder, shower/bath, Thermometer, Blood Pressure Cuff, Physical Restraints, Audio visual equipment, Refrigerator, Housekeeping equipment and supplies, First Aid items. Ability to read and understand MSDS. Ability to read and understand care plans. Certification preferred (CNA, DSP-R, DSP-C, DSP-S) ::
