Primary Purpose:

Provides Univar China and Univar Singapore with product availability, pricing confirmations and lead times for products shipped by ocean and/or air. Supports new developments of suppliers based on the needs from the mentioned affiliates.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

* Works with US Product Managers, domestic buyers, Supply Chain Planners, US Suppliers and the affiliates abroad to provide costs needed for Export sales quotations.
* Responsive to customer needs, follows opportunities prioritizing the needs from the affiliates, and solves problems through ongoing dialogue.
* Works with carriers, freight forwarders, Export Regulatory, Sales Support Coordinator to make sure quoted costs and Purchase Orders have proper back-up for Univar China and Univar Singapore.
* Responsible to send the COAs for approval prior shipments due to shelf-life requirements.

Decision Making Authority:

* Using judgment to determine best supply route to take for a product to minimize cost and optimize lead times.
* Propose if more material can be purchased in order to minimize costs for Univar affiliates

Specialized Knowledge / Skills:

* Excellent time management skills required along with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle diverse and significant workload.
* Understand the need for continuous communication between Supply Planning, the Export Logistic Coordinators (ITS) and Operations.
* Works well under pressure and deadlines.
* Communication skills to be in constant dialogue with our affiliates in China and Singapore.
* Persistent in following up on detailed issues to conclusion.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with suppliers to gain supply agreement.
* Ability to build strong and lasting business relationships (internal and external)
* Independent, driven, self-starter, with an ability to be flexible with the changing needs of a fast-paced distribution environment.
* Understands Univars products and services and applications of key products.
* Strong negotiating and problem-solving capability
* Comfort adjusting to a fluid and ever-changing marketplace
* Bilingual English and Chinese

Education/Training

* Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in international Trade or similar.
* 2-5 years of experience required
* Knowledge of chemical distribution and / or export business and its functions is preferred.
* Proficient use of PC
* Strong communication skills
