Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
The Dietary Aide prepares food and dessert items and serves meals to patients, staff, and visitors in a courteous manner with consideration to dietary needs. The Dietary Aide maintains assigned areas in a clean, orderly and attractive condition providing a suitable environment for patients and staff in accordance with established policies and procedures and in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Fairmount Behavioral Health System.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
1. Cleans, sets up, restocks and maintains sanitation of steam tables for meal service. Assembles food bar items and stocks paper products and condiments for assigned meal periods.
2. Assembles patient trays in compliance with orders to be delivered to each unit.
3. Tends to food line serving meals to patients', staff, visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
4. Assists patients to basic dietary questions and meal selections.
5. Breaks down steam line at the end of each meal.
6. Assist server on serving line during peek meal periods.
7. Prepares and restocks new salad bar items.
8. Cleans counter tops, work areas, utensils, mixers, choppers, etc.
9. Cleans and sanitizes dining room tables and chairs after every meal period.
10. Cleans walls, shelves and work tables in production work areas.
11. Practices safe infection control practices and procedures when performing duties.
12. Maintains all competencies in timely manner.
13. Other duties as assigned by the Cook/Food Service Manager
Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position.
Education: Prefer high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Prefer food service experience preferably in a hospital, health care or hospitality setting.
Licensure/Certification: ServSafe certification preferred
Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of basic math, equipment usage, cleaning products, safety, and infection control practices.
