Primary Purpose:
Responsible for creating financial and operational analyses and providing sophisticated reporting to senior management. Prepare and maintain periodic forecasting models using advanced knowledge of data gathering, manipulation, and summarization in order to analyze complex financial actions to support sound departmental business decisions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the delivery of business process and technology initiatives. Demonstrate ability to identify business requirements, functional design, process design (including operational improvement and scenario re-design), testing, and defining support procedures.
Coordinates and prepares cash flow forecasts on monthly variances. Analyze prepared forecasts with the intent to present key trends and drivers to senior management.
Apply professional experience from finance and systems roles to recommend automation solutions, enhancements to existing reporting / systems / processes, and future state technology solutions.
Provide statistical reporting for commercial paper, investments, short term debt, and other treasury transactions on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for management reporting and to meet regulatory and financial compliance requirements.
Perform financial analysis generally requiring an intermediate level of sophistication and knowledge of cash flow forecasting and analysis within the energy and capital markets.
Leverage departmental project management software to handle certain technology initiatives of various size and scope. This could include planning, prioritizing, compiling key tasks and milestones, collaboration, issue tracking, and management reporting.
Provide backup support to cash management operations as needed.
Ensure the data integrity of reporting systems and source data. Partner with business units to support integrity and timeliness of data collection to support financial models.
Provide interpretation and application of financial policies, accounting theory or financial regulations requiring advanced knowledge of financial principles, practices and application.
Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field required.
CPA, CMA, MBA and/or other professional certifications/advanced degrees a plus.
Experience:
5+ years previous experience or equivalent training and/or experience.
2-3 years experience working with corporate financial systems (i.e. supporting implementations, enhancements / upgrades, testing, report building, administering, extracting data sets in various formats, etc.)
Experience with a Fortune 500 Company with multiple business units a plus.
Experience with multinational businesses a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong computer/presentation skills are required.
Advanced skills with Excel and financial modeling.
Experience with analyzing and developing financial data.
Advanced understanding of accounting & finance including consolidation, elimination & ownership structures.
Ability and drive to advance an issue or problem from identification through resolution.
Strong project management.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a diverse audience.
Ability to train and coach less experienced team members.
Flexibility to perform a variety of duties and serve as back up of other functions, as needed.
Comfortable in making presentations about work product and adjusting style & content to the audience for maximum effectiveness.
