The AWS Worldwide Commercial Sales Academy is looking for a sales skills expert who can design and build sales skills training, job aids and coaching for our worldwide sales team. This means identifying gaps, developing programs, landing those programs as well as providing field support.

You will be a founding member of the Commercial Sales Academy. We build customer obsessed enablement to drive sales results through outcome based trainings. This role will be responsible for influencing content, measures, delivery and strategy of sales skills enablement. This role will also work with field leaders, geographically based field enablement managers, content developers, operations, facilitators and sellers.

The Selling Skills Lead will be responsible for ensuring the field sales organization is well-equipped with the content, training, knowledge of available resources, and core curriculum necessary to be effective in having the right customer conversations to drive success in an environment of fast paced change and AWSs current and new service and solutions offerings. The successful candidate will combine sales skills expertise with sales and sales leadership experience and knowledge of two or more sales methodologies.

This position will work with the several stakeholders supporting the extended AWS sales organization, such as Business Development, Marketing, Professional Services, Solution Architects and the Partner team. The individual must have the ability to communicate effectively across multiple technical and non-technical business units, as well as across other culture and geographies. This is a hands-on position - the ideal candidate must be willing to roll up the sleeves and get things done.

Location: Preference for this position to be in Arlington, VA USA but we are open to these additional locations: Seattle, WA USA - Dallas, TX USA - Boston, MA USA - Washington D.C. USA. Relocation assistance available within the United States.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Consulting expert on sales skills, raising the bar on sales training and job aids
Perform detailed business needs assessments in coordination with the Sales Leadership Team, Commercial Field Enablement Team and Operations to uncover gaps and roadblocks.
Create, develop, manage, and lead the successful execution of the cross-functional sales enablement coaching programs in conjunction with Sales Leadership and HR.
Plan and participate in but not limited to: new hire training and on-boarding, weekly sales training, sales skills and tools training.
Assist in the development of the master plan and calendar for sales enablement activities throughout the year.
Review and manage the existing content library to determine opportunities to improve the learning experience, ensure the content is current and relevant and best technology is employed.
Bring sense of humor to their work, crafting sustainable deep relationships with the team which they enable.
Develop and maintain an effective governance process focused on providing timely and targeted content for sales enablement and continuously improving the field knowledge transfer and learning needs.
Up to 25% travel

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of Field Sales experience
3+ years of Learning & Development experience
5+ years Program Management experience
Experience in developing and managing Sales competency models and Learning paths for sales roles.

Hands-on sales experience
Passion for adult learning
Experience with Cloud Technology
Bachelors degree
Excellent communications skills including, presenting, editing, and writing as well as accuracy and attention to detail required.
A fast-thinking, high-energy individual with a sense of humor and ability to work with a wide range of personalities will thrive in this role
Strategic thinker that can take broad visions and concepts and develop structured plans, actions and measureable metrics and then execute those plans.
Proven ability to lead and manage at senior levels without direct authority
