The Facebook Reality Labs team focuses on delivering Facebook's vision through Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR). You'll be a critical member of a multi-disciplinary integration team contributing to our efforts to gain a scientific understanding of human and machine perception, audio, input, optics, display technology, and translating it into the ultimate experience for our users. Our product engineering team explores, develops, and delivers new cutting-edge technologies into products. We are focused on integrating and launching new technologies from early concept, while iterating, prototyping, and realizing the human value and new experiences they open up. Facebook's Reality Labs organization brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and platform. Our team has the responsibility for building early prototypes, facilitating FB development teams capability to continually iterate designs, to full solutions. As the hands-on Test Architect Lead, you will define and develop scalable manufacturing test strategies, methodologies, frameworks, as well as participate in the deployment of test solutions through multiple hardware development cycles. You will help define overall test strategies, recommend/evaluate/evolve test fixture HW/SW designs, as well as test equipment and qualification processes. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, and comfortable dealing with ambiguity while working in a cross-functional team environment. The successful candidate will be responsive, adaptable, and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. We are looking for someone with a productive mindset who can apply their expertise to solve difficult problems in creative, insightful ways.

Test Architect Lead Responsibilities

* Lead test architecture designs and develop scalable manufacturing test system solutions with internal Firmware, Program Management, Reliability, Quality, Operations, Software, DVE, Hardware Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Optical) teams, and external FB partner teams

* Define test plans, requirements, methodologies, implementation, and optimization of test setup/processes through multiple prototyping development phases, across multiple Protoline sites. (Inclusive of design and qualification of test fixtures, test equipment, and test software)

* Collaborate with internal groups, and vendor teams to identify resource needs satisfying test requirements from technical perspectives, and consideration for manufacturing needs

* Comfortable working on concurrent projects, in different phases, while demonstrating robust design and validation skills

* You will be heavily involved in troubleshooting issues on complex test and automation systems

* Develop metrics and algorithms to automate detection of hardware quality issues

* Be able to take on difficult challenges and communicate across organizational boundaries

* Lead internal and vendor test teams through POC/DOE experiments, maturing in to deployable protoline test HW/SW solutions

* Work with internal partners to transition from prototyping to high volume manufacturing

Minimum Qualifications

* BS or MS degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience

* 10+ years of experience in advanced consumer electronic product development and manufacturing

* Experience with the hardware development cycle, with experience in new product introductions

* Experience in test development and frameworks enabling measurable test coverage metrics and data analytics

* Experience leading groups of engineers and technicians in their daily work, as well as building a new teams

* Experience with manufacturing test data collection systems and infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with module test and manufacturing processes with direct experience managing manufacturing test implementation and execution

* Experience with design for six sigma, inclusive of structure problem solving approach, design experimentation and optimization (DOE), root cause and defect/failure analysis, FMEA, FEA, reliability testing, statistical data analysis, manufacturing process knowledge (MSA/GRR)

* Experience building cross-functional relationships at all levels of the organization

* Experience with driving results, motivating, driving urgency

* Experience with leadership and achieving results

* Experience with Scripting, Automated Testing Tools, Reporting, Unit Test, In-circuit Test, Functional Test Fixture Electrical Design, Manufacturing Test Engineer supporting NPI VR or AR projects
