Performs routine laboratory tests in various sections of the laboratory.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education
Associate's Degree with medical technician training, preferred.
50 week US military medical laboratory training course and minimum of 2 years experience, acceptable.

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

MLT certification required at time of hire or within 6 months of employment: (ASCP) preferred; AMT, NCA, or other national certification.

Typical Physical Demands: May require extended periods of standing or sitting. Some bending, stooping, or stretching is required. May require lifting and carrying 5-25 pounds. Requires full range of motion including eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges. Requires ability to communicate and interact with others in person and on the phone. Also requires high degree of mental alertness and the ability to handle a high degree of stress and/or irregular work hours.

Minimum Work Experience
1 year medical laboratory experience post training preferred.
