Description

We are accepting applications for students interested in working during the summer of 2021. To make the application process easier, we have streamlined all non-regulated summer internships at the DTE Affiliate offices to this posting.

If you want to get professional experience, preferably in a field of your study; apply to this posting - regardless of your major.

Degrees typically hired by DTE for the Summer Internship, include, but are not limited to: Engineering (all types), Science (all types), English, IT Related, Communication, Business Admin/Mgt, Accounting/Finance, Math/Stats, Construction Mgt, Media Arts related, Human Resources, Marketing, Economics, Undeclared Majors, etc.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four year college or university. Candidates that have completed at least two years of college by May, 2021 are preferred.

Additional requirements:

* Must be an active student status. Students who graduate from college, prior to starting work, are not eligible for the program.
* College students will be asked to provide an official transcript as proof of eligibility prior to receiving an offer letter of employment.
* Some positions might require driving. Those positions will require the student to have a valid driver's license, a reliable means of transportation and an acceptable driving record.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and email etiquette
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to professionally and confidently interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
* Possession of excellent organizational, follow-up, and follow through skills
* Knowledge of business correspondence, English, spelling, basic accounting and grammar
* Ability to efficiently handle competing priorities and tasks, remain organized and meet deadlines
* Ability to establish and maintain confidential and effective working relationships with supervisor, coworkers and management
* Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with a welcoming, cooperative and supportive demeanor
