About this role
What will you be responsible for?
This position ensures site compliance with environmental permits and plans across multiple legacy locations in the Nevada Legacy portfolio (primarily Nevada and California, but also in Montana, Utah, Arizona and Alaska). Responsible for inspections, sample collection and preparing reports.

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:
We complete environmental inspections, environmental compliance sampling, and audits, and maintain records for detailing compliance with regulatory statutes and company governance.
We prepare environmental compliance reports.
We coordinate environmental compliance, training, and closure activities with legacy site operations teams.
We assist with the response to and evaluation of environmental accidents and incidents. Collaborate on developing, implementing and supervising the resulting action plan.
We assist senior level staff with permit exceedance trend analysis and compliance database management.
We coordinate activity of contractors and consultants doing work on environmental initiatives or with impacts on environmental performance.

Knowledge:
* Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or related field preferred.
* Knowledge of State and Federal Environmental Regulations and NEPA, RCRA, ISO 14001 preferred
Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of experience or 5+ years of applicable experience.
Skills and Abilities:
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Technical report writing skills.
* Personal organization, time management and attention to detail.
* Influence tactics and relationship management.
* Demonstrated ability to work safely while following applicable safety regulations and procedures.
Working conditions and location
Where you will be located!
* This position is based in Elko, NV.
* Approximately 80% of time will be in the field with possible exposure to harsh winter/summer weather extremes, chemical, mine waste, and wildlife.
* Travel required to visit and assist domestic legacy sites and possible consultation with international legacy sites. Must be available to travel as vital and able to fly as a passenger in helicopters and small aircraft.
