The Microsoft Acquisition and Venture Success (MAVS) team focuses on maximizing deal value. We do this by providing objective and rigorous due diligence, risk identification and mitigation, integration insight, planning and execution, and post deal support. Creating deal value through M&A is the North Star that drives everything we do.
We are hiring a Senior Finance Manager to join the team. In this role, you will participate in financial due diligence, special projects, and lead integration planning and execution.
The successful candidate in this role will understand deal value, help create the finance due diligence scope, prepare data books, and deliver impact analysis and due diligence reporting using accounting competencies and experience in mergers and acquisitions. You will combine a passion for financial analysis and program management excellence. While the function strives to build strong processes and rhythms to support deals, you will derive energy from being agile ensuring that the plans align to achieving deal value as the priority. You are also an effective problem solver, able to bring together a wide range of stakeholders to seek win/win solutions.
In this job you'll be accountable for
* Participating or leading financial due diligence on potential acquisitions.
* Developing a deep understanding of the deal value thesis, and financial model.
* Preparing due diligence plan to rigorously test key deal value drivers.
* Preparing financial data book as a foundation for due diligence analysis and reporting.
* Analyzing financial data and identifying key trends behind the performance of the target, discussing performance and forecast assumptions with senior leaders and writing reports that document our findings and recommendations around key financial and business issues in the transaction.
* Leading planning and execution of finance integration programs to support synergies and deal value capture.
The following qualifications lay out a path for success in the role:
* A BA/BS degree in Finance or Accounting is required
* CPA or equivalent designation with significant public accounting experience
* Previous experience supporting M&A transactions and creating deal models
* Experience working in the high-tech industry.
* Strong financial/business acumen, ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights
* Must be an effective communicator at all levels with the ability to act as trusted advisor to senior management at both Microsoft and the transaction partner.
* Strong program management skills
* Must possess strong leadership skills and can perform in an environment of ambiguity and drive decisions within short timeframes with limited information.
* Up to 10% of time may be required for domestic and international travel, sometimes with short notice.
