Job Description:
Design and develop electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on military/commercial aircraft and ground stations. The design includes creating system wiring diagrams using the Capital Harness System tool as well as circuit breaker panels, control panels and other items using Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools. Engineer will be responsible for research, systems integration, preparation of engineering drawings, and coordination of design activities with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost. Engineer will also be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of 2 to 5 entry-level design engineers for the duration of an assigned project. Designs can include development of power distribution, electrical loads analysis, and load shedding scheme along with the opportunity to support testing and integration of systems on the aircraft. Electrical design engineers have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on various aircraft platforms.
Qualifications:
* Requires Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering with five (5) years aircraft design related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering with three (3) years aircraft design related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Required Skills:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required
* Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required
* Be able to walk to and from the flight line, work in aircraft hangar environment and board/exit aircraft is required.
* Willing to travel or relocate, if necessary
Preferred Additional Skills:
* CAD skills are highly desired
* Understanding of basic aircraft systems
* Systems integration experience
Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance at the Secret level, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
