Job Description

KPMG is currently seeking an Associate, Personal Independence to join our Risk Management organization.

Responsibilities:

* Apply an introductory understanding of the applicable independence rules and regulations in executing procedures that contribute to providing basic guidance to field professionals on the application of firm policy and regulatory rules and in providing entry-level guidance directly to field professionals on the application of such policy and rules in an area that requires limited judgment
* Execute tasks that contribute to workgroup projects and processes with appropriate supervision; manage a queue of multiple tasks that generally have short-term deadlines; serve as a role model to peers
* Perform basic independence technical research as directed by supervisors to contribute to the provision of technical guidance and to execute tasks; display an introductory level of understanding of the impact of decisions on Audit, Advisory or Tax engagement teams and clients
* Regularly interface with Independence Group workstream manager and director-level professionals regarding the execution of tasks and responsibilities that contribute to achieving desired outcomes for the Independence Group
* Identify opportunities for innovation within executed tasks, processes and projects that contribute to the improved efficiency and effectiveness of the workgroup
* Participate in and prepare for interactions with Audit, Advisory or Tax professionals to provide guidance regarding the application of professional independence standards along with a supervisor; directly interface with Audit, Advisory or Tax professionals on entry-level or routine matters involving professional standards or firm policy with limited involvement of a supervisor

Qualifications:

* Minimum one year of recent Independence, legal, client service or related business experience
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
* Ability to contribute to projects, processes or programs under some supervision
* Strong verbal/written communication, problem solving, organizational and independent judgment skills to support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork
