Job Description
American Express Travel Related Services seeks Technical Project Managers to drive the development and delivery of technical products and solutions for our customers. Engage with product owners, business stakeholders, and delivery teams to understand business needs and identify solutions. Coordinate with business units to prioritize, plan, and execute development schedules in-line with product development initiatives and regulatory needs. Guide technical teams in the execution of project plans and track team velocity, financials, and other KPIs in relation to project plans and progress reports. Perform reviews of product backlogs, designs, code, test scripts, and results and address delivery impediments or product quality issues. Use technical acumen to provide design alternatives and support team in technical issue resolution. Maintain dependency plans between planned sprints across engineering, infrastructure, and third-parties. Conduct daily stand-ups and retrospectives at the end of each sprint.
Minimum Qualifications
Position requires a Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, and 2 years of experience with technical delivery and IT project management. Experience must include a minimum of: 1 year of experience with implementation and execution of Scrum and Agile practices to deliver technology solutions; 1 year of experience with software design, development, testing, and implementation; 1 year of experience with delivering industry leading solutions to market; 1 year of experience with technical solution analysis, design, and execution; and 1 year of experience with algorithms, clarity, CD/CI processes, data structures, GIT, HTML, J2EE, Java, JavaScript, JDBC, Jenkins, Jira, JSON, JSP, Microsoft Project Server, object-oriented design and coding, Oracle, Rally, SQL, Selenium, VB, Visio, Waterfall, Web Services, and XML.
