Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs and assists physician and co-workers with all types of procedures while delivering quality patient care. Ability to operate radiation-producing equipment. Perform all job functions as a scrub tech, recording of data and documentation and ability to circulate procedures under the direct supervision of a Register Nurse. Support an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups. Functions under the supervision of the Cardiac Cath Lab Charge Nurse.
KEY PERFORMANCE FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

III. PROVISION OF SERVICES
A. Assists Cardiologists/Electrophysiologists as a scrub assistant, including insertion and manipulation of cardiac catheters, diagnostic and interventional procedures, angiogram injections and acquisitions. B. Operation of physiological computer monitoring and imaging equipment C. Performs a variety of technical procedures utilizing Radiographic Skills, including contrast administration according to policy D. Inventory maintenance E. Performance Improvement participation F. Transportation of patients
Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors and employees. The Radiological Technologist will assess risks to patient safety and implement the appropriate precaution(s) and will comply with appropriate and approved standards relating to: A. Physical and Sensory Requirements:
1. Ability to read and write in English 2. Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians support staff/agencies, vendors and others 3. Ability to remain calm under stress 4. Ability to respond to pages 5. Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions 6. Bending, lifting, grasping, hand coordination, pushing/pulling and squatting. Lifting minimum of 50 pounds 7. Near-visual acuity and depth perception 8. Electrical and radiant energy hazards present 9. Ability to wear lead protective aprons and eye wear during procedures and for extended periods of time 10. Film badge must be worn at all times while in the labs 11. Exposure to infectious organisms, agents and toxic chemicals 12. Ability to work variable hours and take 24-hour call 13. Perform duties as assigned according to licensure
