Overview:

This position is responsible for EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) on-boarding and maintenance of trading partners to Macys. Analyze requirements, test systems and establish communication with trading partners. Fielding production support calls as the first point of contact, researching and analyzing problems, coordinating the correction of translation errors and re-processing EDI transactions. Provide excellent customer service to the vendor community, merchants, and business units within Macys. This position requires solid analytical abilities and the aptitude to think holistically and strategically. Acts as a Subject Matter Expert and escalation specialist regarding problems or situations within the EDI team. Flexible and capable of working with individuals at all levels. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

* Maintain the integrity of the WDI translator by ensuring controls are executed so that EDI transmissions to and from vendors are accurate.

* Basic understanding and working knowledge of EDI formats.

* Daily data validation and analytics.

* Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and network configuration.

* Review EDI change requests to ensure consistency and compatibility to existing systems and procedures, including researching, validating, and resolving issues for accurate processing.

* Provide prompt and accurate feedback to our trading partners and 3rd party EDI providers.

* Review system transaction logs for problem areas within inbound and outbound transactions.

* Works directly with our trading partners and 3rd party EDI vendors to analyze data requirements and transactions.

* Strong collaborative, proactive and positive working style with a customer service focus.

* Develop relationships with users, and managers in the business along with our trading partners.

* Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time.

* Identify areas of improvement, recommend and support new initiatives.

* Coordinate multiple tasks and prioritize workload to manage day-to-day operations.

* Ensure all procedures, policies, and standards are understood and followed by colleagues.

* Liaise with merchant ops and other internal groups to support all company strategies.

* Work on special projects to help streamline department processes.

* Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

* High school diploma required.

* Accounts Payable and retail experience required.

Communication Skills:

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Strong interpersonal skills; able to build rapport and credibility with internal and external business partners.

* Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills:

* Must have above average mathematical skills.

* Understanding of the retail inventory process.

* Accounts Payable and retail experience preferred.

Reasoning Ability:

* Ability to analyze, problem solve and make sound decisions based on findings.

* Ability and desire to thrive in a proactive, collaborative, high-pressure environment.

* Must be flexible enough to work independently with minimal supervision or in collaboration with others.

Physical Demands:

* This position involves extended periods of sitting and the extensive use of computer and the office equipment.

* May involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

* Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Other Skills:

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

* Strong organizational, analytical, leadership and team relations skills.

* Must be detail oriented, organized and analytical.

* Demonstration of excellent judgment and supervisory capability, including providing effective direction and training to the team.

* Commitment to providing great customer service.

Work Hours:

* 40 hours - Monday through Friday.

* Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department needs.
