Job Description:
The Special Procedures Tech works under the direction of the Diagnostic Imaging Director, Assistant Director or Lead Technologist, performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures that may apply ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology in patients. Regulates the equipment used to expose the x-ray film and/or digital receptors, completes the appropriate paperwork and computer applications, organizes and prepares the film/images for interpretation by the radiologist(s). Operates equipment safely and maintains ALARA standards while performing all types of procedures within the scope of the Special Procedure Technologist profession. Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments and medical staff. Specific position duties may be found in the Competency Check-Off form for this position.
Qualifications
* Graduate of an accredited program for Radiographers
* FL licensure
* ARRT Certification (R) required
* ARRT Certification (VI), preferred
* BLS Healthcare Provider with American Heart Association
