Job Description
GDIT is looking for a developer with strong back-end skills to support a client's intranet initiative. The developer will deliver innovative solutions for improving the effectiveness, reach, and content of the intranet site to improve the effectiveness of the client's workforce. Our team will sustain, expand and improve the Drupal-based site with static and dynamic content, including integration with other internal and external sources.
This role requires a combination back-end programming skills (PHP, Java) and services (service design, implementation, scalability). The best candidate has a strong understanding of industry trends and using agile methodologies for development and deployment processes that can be used in Drupal-based systems. Some front-end knowledge is preferred.
The candidate will be responsible for working across the software life-cycle, with an emphasis on design and development. The ideal candidate, while focused on back-end development would also be able to contribute as developer to other parts of the application and testing stack. The candidate will work collaboratively with the team to best realize system requirements in the Drupal platform by identifying what is best provided by Drupal and its modules, what should be customized and to implement and integrate these solutions to create a compelling experience for users.
