Job Description

The Facebook Connectivity team works with mobile operators to bring more people online by developing innovative hardware and software solutions to lower the total cost of mobile data. Through our Telecom Infrastructure Project, programs such as Magma and Evenstar, and back-end system efforts (e.g. OSS/BSS, network monitoring and optimization), our teams develop innovative technologies which help move the industry forward to connect the unconnected. You will be responsible to help define products and programs that change the landscape and economics for cellular fixed and mobile deployments. You will help envision, build and deploy the new generation of products launched in partnership with mobile operators and will be instrumental in bringing the next billion people online. We are looking for someone who is entrepreneurial, structured, and possesses a mix of strong product sense, business acumen and subject matter expertise with cellular networks, open-source projects and go-to-market strategies, preferably with knowledge in one or more of the following areas: access network operations, 3G/4G/5G cellular cores and OSS/BSS systems.
This position will require international travel.

Product Manager, Cellular Core Responsibilities

* Define technical development and launch of innovative products for end-to-end lifecycle of cellular network design, deployment, operation, and support

* Establish shared vision across the team by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution

* Drive product development with a team of world-class engineers, designers, and data scientists

* Integrate vendor and partner market studies, usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction

* Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products

* Develop and drive go-to-market strategy and associated tactical execution in conjunction with cross-functional teams

* Understand Facebooks strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are recognized best in the industry

* Maximize efficiency and remove blockers in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm

Minimum Qualifications

* 5+ years of product management experience

* Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (i.e., Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)

* Communication and presentation experience

* Organizational and analytical experience

* Technical knowledge of LTE network architecture, OSS/BSS systems, LTE signaling and data plane protocols, Evolved Packet Core (EPC) systems

* Technical knowledge of OSI network model and access network technologies such as Wi-Fi and 2G/3G/4G/5G cellular

* Experience developing network-focused platforms, management tools, or open source products

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in network or operations at a mobile network operator or at an equipment or services supplier to mobile network operators

* Familiarity with industry trends in edge cloud, hybrid cloud, Software Defined Networking (SDN), and Network Function Virtualization Infrastructure (NFVI)

* Fast-paced start-up environment experience
