Summary: As part of the PWM Advisory Solutions team, the GenSpring Investment Strategist (IS) is responsible for helping Wealth Advisors & Client Advisors win new UHNW ($25+MM in AUM) clients and to deepen and strengthen existing client relationships in the GenSpring segment of PWM through advising on investment solutions. The GenSpring Investment Strategist combines the technical skills of portfolio managers with the communication and selling skills of sales-traders. The role requires a multi-product focus that incorporates equities, fixed income, and foreign exchange products, derivatives, structured products, alternative investments, private equity and hedge fund strategies. Based on investment reviews with UHNW clients, recommends and establishes investment strategies and solutions designed to achieve specific account related investment goals and objectives for discretionary and non-discretionary investment portfolios. Develops investment policy statements and advises on strategic and tactical asset allocation. Partners in new business development opportunities and acts as primary resource for investment communication.
The GenSpring Investment Strategitst does substantive analysis in conjunction with the presentation and articulation of the Investment Process to prospective UHNW clients. By participating in client on boarding, the GenSpring IS is able to customize the client's investment portfolios and to assess the client's entry point into the investment management process based upon the client's unique perspective of investing experiences, investment objectives and risk tolerances. The GenSpring IS is responsible for building a rapport with each of his or her base of client families prior to capital deployment which will help ensure long-lasting client/trusted advisor relationships.
As a key member of the PWM client facing team, the GenSpring Investment Strategist shares responsibility for developing and deepening client relationships through the delivery of proactive advice for UHNW clients and participates in the development of client strategy to meet our UHNW client needs, including investment and risk management.
Typically manages the largest and/or most complex investment accounts with a client base of approximately 40-75 relationships. Assets Under Management will typically exceed $800 million with revenue responsibility exceeding $5 million. Typically sought out by peers and co-workers for advice and assistance relating to investment expertise and client solutions..
Minimum Requirements: Bachelors degree. 10 years investment experience, which should include experience as an investment advisor or portfolio manager working with ultra high net worth clients (with assets of $10 million +). Demonstrates superior investment skills and knowledge and a thorough understanding and application of complex investment vehicles and strategies.
Preferred Requirements: MBA/CFA and/or equavilent professional designation.
Combination of buy and sell-side experience.
