Newly established Enterprise Payments Group has an opportunity to drive better alignment across Truists payments franchise and to keep the finger on the pulse of competitive developments in this rapidly evolving space. Enterprise Payments Group will partner with all relevant stakeholders to:
* Conduct an objective and analytically driven strategic analysis of Truists payments assets and initiatives;
* Leverage these findings to help imagine, define, and deliver an over-arching payments strategy to influence next generation payment products, services, and infrastructure to meet our clients needs and to drive financial results;
* Evaluate internal, external, and adjacent opportunities, including potential partnerships, investments, and acquisitions to help advance Truists payments capabilities and competitive positioning;
* Serve as a central source of payments industry knowledge and expertise, helping to provide thought leadership, research, and education; and
* Advance the banks agenda among key industry groups and consortia
Job Summary: Enterprise Payments Group Associate works on analytically oriented, payments related strategy projects for the bank. He/ She works on 2-3distinct projects at a given time, conducts required analysis, manages analysts as needed and ultimately communicates her findings in a verbal and written format
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Frame payments related strategic questions and build approaches to solve them
* Lead some projects that involves partnerships and corporate development while managing analysts
* Write power point decks or word docs communicating the strategic process, analysis, options and recommendations
* Conduct analysis by using appropriate tools (e.g. model building, market sizing, financial analysis)
* Conduct research about relevant questions by talking to applicable people in the organization, identifying and synthesizing previous work and sometimes talking to contacts externally
* Communicate results of analysis and findings of research in both verbal and written format
* Take a lead on 1-2 payment topics and be a champion of it for the bank
* Stay on top of all payments related developments in the market; be a leader in communicating and galvanizing the bank, as needed
* Build relationships with colleagues in banks payments businesses and manage them for EPG (e.g. Treasury Services, Card, etc.)
* Challenge conventional thinking and ask questions
* Help the team progress the thinking in payments
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in a quantitative field (e.g. engineering, math, science, economics, etc.)
* Graduate degree in MBA or quantitative field
* 6-10 years of relevant experience that is analytical in nature
* Deep in at least one financial services area
* Graduate of strategy consulting (McKinsey/BCG/Oliver Wyman/Bain) or investment banking or sell side research training
* 2 years experience in Partnerships or Corporate Development
* Currently in consulting, investment banking or doing similar work at an industry firm (i.e. strategy, Corp dev, etc.)
* Led projects with analysts accountable to them
* Good at operating across a company interacting with managers consistently
* Analytically strong, creative, smart with good work ethic
* Distinctive problem-solving and analysis skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* High-level of adaptability; respond appropriately and competently to the demands of work challenges when confronted with change, ambiguity, adversity, and other pressures
* Take high degree of personal ownership and pride 26. History of teamwork and willingness to roll up ones sleeves to get the job done
