Job Description
Primary Purpose:
Responsible for safe, efficient and scheduled train performance on assigned territory.
Principal Duties:
* Ensures that train service and maintenance personnel comply with all operating rules and safe work practices.
* Assists in holding annual rules classes and verifies compliance with the rules by monitoring performance on a continuing basis.
* Provides support in investigating accidents and injuries to determine the cause and takes appropriate action to minimize future occurrences.
* Calls on customers to obtain evaluation of service and remedies problems.
* Assists with preparation of the budget and must control costs.
* Requires a good working knowledge of safety and operating rules, train operations, FRA regulations, hazardous materials, and corporate policies as well as Thoroughbred Yard Enterprise System (TYES), crew call and other applications.
* Requires ability to operate track switches, couple cars, maneuvering onto and off of equipment, and perform work around freight trains.
