As our Director of Innovation Engineering, you will join the Technology Innovation Office and will lead a team that researches and develops working proof-of-concepts with a wide range of new and deep technologies. You will help apply it to real business opportunities from concept to creation of real-world pilots. Our culture is collaborative, and results driven. We adopt the fail-fast operating model. === ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS ===
- Lead an engineering team of innovation engineers and support staff using modern DevOps, Agile, and Design Thinking methods. Lead a team to execute on rapid prototyping efforts
- Inspire and lead your engineering team to deliver results and think with a forward looking and growth mindset
- Coaches staff, builds opportunities for staff development and makes decisions on hiring, performance management, recognition, and rewards
- Explain deep technical concepts to a wide audience from engineers to senior executives. Proven history of effective written and verbal communication
- Work with a wide array of stakeholders: business partners, staff, end-users, security, legal, finance, leadership, and innovation partnerships
- Translate business process into functional requirements. Can make sense of, and bring order to, sometimes ambiguous and or conflicting needs
- Provide estimates on effort and risk, and evaluate technical feasibility
WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE

- 5+ years directly managing a team of high functioning individual contributors
- Experience in agile environments such as startups, enterprise or academic labs, large scale open source projects, or similar
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- 10+ years in full lifecycle development experience from concept to bringing tech to market
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other relevant subject area
- Up to 10% travel
