Job Summary
As part of the Workplace Resources (WPR) team, provides essential services in supporting the Business for all the Corporate Real Estate, Facilities Operations, Infrastructure maintenance and the Business Services of the workplace. Maintains and repairs the facilitys structure, equipment and grounds, including plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Performs skilled trades work, such as carpentry or painting in the construction, repair, or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures. Works with manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring required in the production process. Makes periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine repair work necessary. Works from blueprints, drawings, or rough sketches.
Job Location: Based in Wichita Kansas, the Facility Technician, is responsible for the Rock Road, WSU Campus Facilities.
Job Requirements
This position works closely with the WPR Facilities Engineer, Site Operations Manager.
Performs general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment and grounds. Working under close supervision, assists in monitoring building system operations and performance. Utilizes several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling.
This position requires strong internal customer focus, impeccable attention to detail, and a robust work ethic.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
Performs assigned day-to-day repairs, corrective, and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair. Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.
Assists with installation and modification of building equipment systems.
Assists with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems to include plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, and HVAC.
Inspects new installation for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
Provide Audio Visual support/guidance for the facility
Provides Employee Move Management duties
Maintains lighting systems throughout the facility, cleaning fixtures and ensures functionality
Provides vendor escort as required.
Maintains grounds of facility or property performing such tasks as raking, sweeping, leaf blowing or snow removal.
Performs welding, carpentry, furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.
Provide exemplary customer service through employee feedback mechanisms i.e. surveys, focus groups, ad hoc group meeting, etc.
Ensure that all operations adhere to and remains in compliance to all company policies
Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems.
Maintain, operate all HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, building management system, and building repairs.
Perform facility inspections and report on condition affecting operations.
Monitor and supervise HVAC preventive Maintenance contracts.
Responds to emergencies 24X7
Prepare and submit summary reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken
Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, BMS system, fire/life safety, and other systems
Comply with all safety procedures and requirements.
Support any afterhours building needs and activities as required.
Attend training sessions and seminars; and other assigned tasks as requested.

Education
High School diploma
2 - 4 years of related experience
Strong mechanical aptitude
Experience with a computer and iPad
Communicate effectively both orally and writing
Maintain detailed and accurate reports
Requires good verbal and written communication skills
