Job Description

The Bing team is looking for an experienced Data & Applied Scientist to join our online metric team. Our team is responsible for understanding how users engage with search engines and translate them into actionable metrics to guide the experiments.

As a Data & Applied Scientist in this team, you will work to deliver org-wide metrics that drive the direction of Bing initiatives. You will be responsible for analyzing 1000s of A/B experiments, be innovative in improving the sensitivity of our metrics to detect small changes faster and continue to build upon our data driven culture at Microsoft.

As a leader in the team, some of your responsibilities will include:

* Understanding online user experiments, online user engagement and producing actionable, trustworthy conclusions.
* Defining, building and tracking success metrics for Bing customer satisfaction, retention, and the metrics align with the key org metrics.
* Continuously improving the metrics and updating the metrics according to new instrumented signals.
* Building ML models to predict the long term movement of the metrics based on short-term experiment.
* Developing tools to help analyze the movement of the metrics to help feature teams to understanding why their changes impact the metrics.

Below are the qualifications required for this role:

* 6+ years industry/professional experience developing in Python, Java, C or C++/C
* Experience with building machine learning models on large scale data
* Ability to work independently with effective communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

* Familiarity with search engines, dealing with online instrumentation is a plus.
* Experience on A/B experimentation, statistics and mathematics
