Are you a hands-on and experienced, Design Engineering, Sr. Electromechanical Technician keen on contributing to the development of exciting new industrial products for marking and bar code printing applications?

In this role youll test, rework and debug printed circuit boards, build experimental setups for design testing of high-speed electromechanical assemblies.

Youll have the opportunity to be a vital contributor to the development of new laser engraving and inkjet printing products and work in a new group of talented engineers within a well-established multinational company.

You should possess at minimum, an associates degree and 10+ years of professional experience.

Principal Activities/Duties/Responsibilities:

Design validation testing (major focus on electronics).

Conduct testing of mechanical, electrical, and optical components, subsystems and systems.

Document experimental conditions and test results.

Build prototypes and test fixtures; interface with external vendors for complex parts.

Inspect incoming parts.

Manage lab and lab equipment, including calibration.

Effectively interact with other members of the technical team to create a safe, fun, and productive work environment.

Design and verify cables.

Required Skills:

Experience reworking PCBs, solder to add or remove components.

Experience with at least one data acquisition system.

Use of lab equipment (Oscilloscope, DVM, Function generator, soldering station, etc.)

Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.

Debug under the guidance of an Engineer

Attention to details.

Eagerness to learn new skills and new tools.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

MSOffice tools.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills:

Altium designer.

Simple mechanical machining skills.

Some 3D mechanical CAD experience.

Programming of motor drives.

Jr. level layout and design of PCBs.

Markem-Imaje Watertown, MA, is an exciting expansion demonstrating our commitment to be the innovation leader in digital printing. This new, state-of-the-art, Global Design Center will be the hub for New Product Introduction of Laser- and DOD-based products. The office is situated close to Boston with easy access by car or public transportation.
