As a Technical Product Manager (TPM) you will drive regional execution of global Auto OEM & Industrial Coatings product strategies within the region. This involves overseeing business case definition and prioritization of regional new product development (NPD) projects that utilize resources available in the Customer Development labs.
Key Responsibilities
* Acts as the first source of product expertise and guidance for the commercial teams in region. Responds to requests from these teams concerning which products to sell and how to win, looking first to Preferred Product Offerings for the advantages they convey internally and externally. The TPM also acts as a two-way conduit between regional commercial teams and global product management, highlighting future product gaps, opportunities, and potential.
* Works with Marketing Communications and the regions commercial team to develop and deploy selling tools (e.g., value proposition training; benchmarking; collateral) that position PPG to win when the customer makes a buying decision. Accordingly, this role will be measured on New Product Sales, overall revenue growth (Rev $), PPO profitability and pipeline growth within the region. The overarching goal is to maximize return on the SBUs new product and preferred product development investment.
* Drive regional go-to-market strategy for Auto & IC products, coordinating and aligning with Commercial, Supply, Technical and Manufacturing.
* Provide regional voice and perspective to inform and shape Global Product Strategy and Portfolio.
* Execute upon Global product and technology strategies within the region.
* Identify, lead, and manage tactical activities around product portfolio, such as Preferred Product Offering.
* Build and deliver market-, product-, and value-based sales collateral and sales training to support the commercial teams in front of the customer; position PPG to be the supplier of choice.
* Support evaluation, prioritization, and execution of regional product development pipeline, portfolio, and projects
* Support growth and pipeline customer opportunities with value messaging, secure launch support, coordination of resources and certifications/specification approvals.
* Support assessment of competitive product capabilities within the region.
* Provide strategic pricing recommendations to drive value.
Qualifications
* Bachelor degree in technical, scientific, business, or related fields; MBA preferred
* Minimum 5 years related work experience; Product Management experience most preferred.
* Experience in Sales or technical with Cross-functional exposure; similar experience in coatings or manufacturing business preferred
* Proven track-record of delivering results and driving execution
* Strong business and financial acumen
* Influence Management skills; motivating and coordinating others who do not report to you.
