SUMMARY
EMCOR Construction Services (ECS) is seeking a Senior Estimator in the electrical Industry ready to take the next step and lead the Estimating Department for an ECS Electrical Operating Company located in Southeast Florida. This position requires extensive Construction Estimating experience working on multi-million-dollar electrical Industry projects in both the public and private sector. The role is responsible for leading all estimating activities including: estimating, planning, preliminary project cost and schedule, coordination of estimating activities, equipment and material take-off, vendor, and subcontractor quotations, to final preparation of cost estimate and scope of work. Job Title: Estimating Department Manager/Senior Estimator (Electrical)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties will likely be assigned.
* Leads the Estimating Department by providing functional and administrative oversight of all estimating activities including, estimating, planning, preliminary project cost and schedule, coordination of estimating activities, equipment and material take-off, vendor, and subcontractor quotations, to final preparation of cost estimate and scope of work.
* Develops all budgets and bids with accuracy and completeness and submits after review and adjustments as necessary with lead estimators, and the operations department.
* Analyzes and reviews proposals to ensure profitability
* Reviews overall preconstruction schedule, contract agreement obligations, monitor deliverables and maintains product workflow.
* The generation and tracking of bid and budget estimates from the Pre-concept design stage to the construction document stage.
* Solicit, review and present Bid and Budget opportunities from Owners, Developers, and General Contractors to Management for consideration to pursue.
* Visits customers and encourage direct business development and sales activities
* Presents value engineering and cost savings opportunities to clients as required to meet budget constraints
* Manages multiple Estimating Department projects and staff work load priorities
* Coordinates take-off and assigns work load to distribute drawing specifications, bulletins and all pertinent information to estimating staff so they can complete their assigned task(s).
* Recognizes/identifies potential discrepancies and errors in documents and develop RFI questions for timely response. Collaborates with Management and operatives for proper response and resolution.
* Develops scope letters for each bid and budget, reviews bids from sub-contractors, review scopes of work and analyze costs, as bids are received.
* Ensures all estimate and budget paper files, and electronic files, including drawings and specifications are properly assembled, organized, and that the estimating systems and data bases are being maintained in a manner that aligns with the established guidelines, policies and procedures.
* Reviews schedule and constructability issues and participates in contract and change order negotiations
* Trains departmental staff and ensures that guidelines, policies and procedures are established and implemented for various types of estimates.
* May supervise and manage other roles and departments, as needed.
* Aligns assignments to achieve customer and company objectives
* Partners with leadership in the development of strategic and tactical plans and works with management to implement estimating policy, procedures and systems consistent with the company mission and competitive practices.
REQUIREMENTS
* Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or similar Engineering or Construction Degree and 8 years progressive experience organizing and managing complex and diverse Electrical Construction Estimating Projects. OR At least 10 years demonstrated knowledge and progressive experience in Electrical Construction and/or Construction Estimating of which the last 5 years must be leading an Estimating or Construction-Related Team.
* Previous experience providing pre-construction estimating analysis of costs for at-risk construction projects.
* Previous experience providing estimating and design management through all phases of pre-construction evaluation of construction alternatives, conceptual estimating and value engineering.
* At least 5 years progressive experience leading an estimating or construction-related team.
* Capable of accurately taking off multiple electrical systems and entering items into estimating program systems to include but not limited to the following: (lighting, lighting control, dimming, devices, fire alarm, nurse call, A/V, modular wiring, grounding, motor and equipment connections, generators, power distribution equipment, feeders, UPS)
* Must be familiar with industry Manufacturers/Vendors/Reps and be able to communicate sufficient information (specifications, quantities, sketches) to the vendor throughout the bid process to ensure the receipt of accurate and competitive pricing.
* Proficient using Microsoft Office Power Point, Word, and Excel applications.
* Experience using Estimating software systems.

Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customer, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.
