D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Environmental Project and Entitlements Coordinator in the Operations Department. The right candidate will manage the implementation of various aspects of internal and external requirements associated with environmental due diligence and related entitlements. Ensure project-level environmental compliance requirements and objectives are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Initiate environmental due diligence studies and coordinate with consultants and Corporate Legal and Environmental Departments to ensure internal and regulatory agency compliance requirements and objectives are met
* Provide proactive, routine, extensive collaboration and interface with Land Acquisition, Land Development and Stormwater Management personnel in relation to devising, implementing and managing site specific recommendations to address environmental site conditions
* Act as primary liaison to interface with various regulatory agencies, prepare/assist in the preparation of required submittals, facilitate the prompt scheduling of any required field testing
* Supervise and proactively coordinate environmental permitting for new land development and construction projects
* Create feasibility reports summarizing site environmental conditions and documenting required permitting, mitigation and monitoring requirements for each project
* Present recommendations to address environmental site issues and their impact on the preparation of a site plan and engineering plans
* Prepare cost estimates for environmental remediation, permitting and compliance costs to be included in the initial site development budgets
* Collaborate with Land Acquisition staff to prepare budgets and schedules for securing environmental approvals
* Collaborate with the Land Department to advise consulting project engineers on environmental site conditions to be incorporated into the preparation of overall engineering design and approvals on assigned company projects
* Remain current on local and state environmental regulations regarding impact to land acquisition and development
* Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

Education and/or Experience

* Bachelors degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Sciences or a related field
* Two to four years related environmental experience
* Excellent verbal, listening, writing and interpersonal communication skills
* Possess strong analytical skills to analyze reports
* Keen observation skills and critical thinking
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
* Proficiency with MS Office and email

Preferred Qualifications

* Certified Wetland Delineator a plus
* Masters degree is a plus
