Summary

This role allows for a specialized position that primarily focuses on the current and developing state of the Federal Operator Qualification regulatory responsibility within the Gas Utility industry and its effects on Consumer Energy. It is a critical role to the organization that will ensure that Consumers Energy not only meets but exceeds the regulatory requirements.

The work location can be remote/virtual with the ability for the candidate to travel to the following service centers: Saginaw, Flint, Macomb, Livonia, Royal Oak, Lansing, Jackson

Key Responsibilities

* This position provides support to the all of field operations with a focus in Gas (internal & external workforces), compliance and regulatory, engineering, lab services, and corporate safety around all operations work activities.
* Support Operator Qualifications for Contractors
* Perform evaluations (remote, knowledge and performance based) and analytical duties
* Support Statewide Field Leaders and Managers with Operator Qualification (OQ) concerns including Stop the Job scenarios.
* Support new contractors and assist with Operator Qualification Program Documents.
* Update Requal Tests and Operator Qualification Protocols.
* Oversight of internal? employee training, company standards / work methods and Code of Federal Regulations are all essential functions of the position.
* Analyze new regulation impacts / research industry trends and make recommendations to ensure compliance.
* Provide oversight of auditing process for CE employees and contractors and ensure CE employees and contractors meet all requirements of the OQ program.
* Provide oversight over OQ Regulatory Training and ensure CE employees and contractors are trained and requalified in accordance with the OQ program.

Requirements

* A Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Engineering in an applicable field.
* Less than a Bachelors degree may be acceptable if accompanied by extensive Company or industry experience in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance.

The following experience / skills may set you apart from others:

* Knowledge of Operator Qualification program as related to the Federal Operator Qualification Rule.
* Knowledge and skills in operational maintenance / construction standards and work methods.
* In-depth knowledge of applicable regulatory codes and standards.
* LEAN Experience
* Project Management experience or application

Essential Functions:

Senior Technical analysis supports the planning, technical analysis, general management, negotiations, transactions, customer services and auditing of a wide variety of technical and business functions and technical processes of specific operating and support areas throughout the company. This person should have the ability to collaborate with diverse groups and provide valuable input to improve processes through continuous improvement. Lead and/or assist with technical support for the plans, reports, impacts, contracts, schedules, estimates, data collection, observation, and field investigation. Provide technical, non-engineering support services with accuracy, on time and under budget. Use computer assisted applications software and equipment to prepare technical support documents. Understand and follow company established standard procedures for file structure and standard procedures for projects. Assists in client contact and communication. Utilize effective communication skills to answer inquiries from coworkers, clients, or the public. Public involvement may include producing reports, graphics, presentations, and other visual material as well as occasionally speaking or meeting with stakeholders. Attend internal and external meetings. Provide technical support services in a legal and ethical manner. Regular attendance is expected.

Hours and Travel:

This position requires the individual work 40 hours per week with 90% of time spent virtually or on/at specific field locations.
