Data Platform and Cloud Solution Engineer, Senior

The Challenge:

Are you looking for an opportunity to support fast-paced IT operations and build a cloud-based data platform that will help the DoD modernize their data? As a Data Platform and Cloud Solution Engineer, you'll support both development and integration of new tools and services, as well as troubleshooting and performance tuning efforts for a DoD Big Data platform consisting of many inter-dependent tools on a cloud-based platform.

As a member of the team, you will use your problem solving and analytical abilities to integrate technologies to support our application's critical clients. You will be responsible for investigating, diagnosing, and resolving complex issues as they arise, and as you progress in your role, you will develop the expertise necessary to troubleshoot application functionality, manage access control and data security configurations, and conduct fine-grained performance tuning in our architecture. You'll work with multi-functional teams to identify the right mix of tools and techniques, including vendor tools for cloud native services to translate your customer's needs and future goals into a plan that will enable secure and effective solutions. We need to evolve as necessary to provide the best solution, so you'll research new techniques, break free from legacy models, and go where the industry is headed. You Have:

* 5+ years of experience with architecting, building, and deploying in cloud environments using both native technologies and external vendor tools to support big data platforms
* 3+ years of experience with deploying and hardening vendor-based tools in a cloud-based environment and with managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approaches
* Experience with Cloud design, deployment, and maintenance using Amazon Web Services (AWS)
* Experience with AWS cloud native services in the big data domain using Redshift, S3, RDS, EMR, Athena, Glue, and other supporting tools that enable large volume data analysis
* Experience with Linux or windows and cloud-based networking principles
* Ability to independently research, gather technical specifications, and develop plans for upcoming requirements, including the integration of new tools or services into the platform
* Secret clearance
* HS diploma or GED
* Vendor-Sponsored Cloud or Security Certification

Nice If You Have:

* Experience with working in a regulated environment governed by cyber hardening requirements and other compliance regulations such as FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD regulations
* Experience with PKI and SAML based SSO and Active Directory
* Experience with Splunk or related log aggregation tool
* Experience with DevOps, including CI/CD, IaC, or automation
* Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or OpenShift
* Knowledge of Kerberos, Hadoop, Solr, PostgreSQL, MSSQL server, or Elasticsearch
* Top Secret clearance or higher
* BA or BS degree in IT, Information Systems, CS, or Engineering
* AWS Solutions Architect Certification or specialties
* DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II, Security+ Certification, or compliance certification
