The Manager, Medical Health Outcomes Research (MHOR) will assist in resource development for field employees globally who engage with payors, in collaboration with the MHOR Therapeutic Area heads, Value & Access, Global Scientific Communications, Personalized Health Research, Analytics, & Solutions, Global Medical and US Medical (PHRAS). Resources will be created to demonstrate the value proposition of medicines to enable optimal market access, reimbursement, and brand growth for lifecycle management. This individual will provide assistance to the Head, Value Communications for MHOR to ensure timely, accurate, resources with value messages that will resonate with payors globally. They will understand the global healthcare systems, as well as US/Global payor landscape and will coordinate the development of quality, impactful HEOR resources and real-world evidence resources that will be used by Global Field employees to inform payor decision-makers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assist in resource development for field employees globally who engage with payors.
Collaborate with the MHOR Therapeutic Area heads, Value & Access, Global Scientific Communications, Personalized Health Research, Analytics, & Solutions, Global Medical and US Medical (PHRAS)
Assist with collaboration and liaison with internal cross-functional teams (V&A, Global Medical, US Medical, MVLs, US and Global Medical Directors, US Market Access & Reimbursement, Value & Access, MERI) to translate customer value drivers into meaningful medical and outcomes research
Prioritize and/or develop resources and training for the field teams who engage with payor decision makers globally to support the value proposition for BIIB products
Manage external vendors
Create resources to demonstrate the value proposition of medicines to enable optimal market access, reimbursement, and brand growth for lifecycle management.
Manage the needs of multiple products from pipeline to marketed products, demonstrating the ability to handle competing priorities, address issues of multiple complexity and deliver to challenging timelines

* Stay up to date with therapy advances, current research, medical scientific knowledge, and detailed knowledge on Biogen products & relevant Disease Areas

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in health economics, health services research, outcomes research and/or related disciplines
Mastery of PowerPoint or other slide creation software
In-depth knowledge of US managed market and the biopharmaceutical industry including R&D, clinical, market access and commercial
Expertise with pharmacoeconomic analyses, patient-reported outcomes, retrospective and prospective observational studies and their application to evaluate and deliver the value of medicines
Ability to effectively operate in a highly matrixed organization, including excellent interpersonal and management skills through influencing
Team player
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with strong project management abilities (e.g., contracting, budgeting, vendor management)
Ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific medical and regulatory information. Excellent written and oral communication skills are imperative
Ability to anticipate and adapt to change while maintaining the momentum of an overall strategic plan, ability to work independently, to complete tasks in a timely fashion, and function in a rapid paced, high pressure environment
Strong ability to conduct medical and scientific analysis and decision-making

Education:
Bachelors Degree in a health care related field preferably in epidemiology, public health, health economics or pharmaceutical sciences or related discipline is required; PharmD, PhD, or other advanced degree in the life sciences highly preferred

Reporting to the Head, Value Communications for Medical Health Outcomes Research this individual will ensure timely, accurate, resources with value messages that will resonate with payors globally. The successful candidate will understand the global healthcare systems, as well as US/Global payor landscape, and will coordinate the development of quality, impactful HEOR resources and real-world evidence resources that will be used by Global Field employees to inform payor decision-makers.
