JOB DESCRIPTION

The primary purpose of this position is to manage daily production, receiving, and shipping activities to ensure all standards of quality, safety, and productivity are achieved. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned: - Manage the daily achievement of the distribution centers expense, safety, quality, and production goals. - Complete the responsibilities of the General Manager in his/her absence. - Direct the activities of distribution center operations ensuring accountability for readiness to support shipping units at a high picking accuracy rate with an on-time delivery. - Develop customer centric goals with a strong emphasis on order accuracy. Ensure store visits are being executed as well as open communications and accessibility to resolve issues within store regions serviced by distribution center. - Prepare and execute annual DC operation's budget to process units inbound/outbound to the Rite Aid stores and distribution centers. - Collaborate with business leaders in the organization to design, develop, or implement special projects as needed. - Attend distribution center daily meeting and interact with management team and hourly associates on a daily basis - Oversee and drive performance labor standards to ensure an efficient and productive labor force. - Manage corporate safety programs designed to ensure safety of all associates and work with the safety committee to correct any deficiencies identified. - Stay current on new technology which will improve the efficiency of the DC operations. - Ensure store special requests for merchandise are coordinated and managed to achieve success. - Monitor staffing and equipment levels to ensure adequate utilization of resources and production line balancing. - Enforce all work regulations and union contracts. - Monitor maintenance functions to ensure adequate material handling systems are utilized. - Anticipate the distribution centers operational needs and act accordingly to ensure all objectives are met. - Establish performance objectives for associates in the distribution center; analyze performance reports to find ways to improve operation. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position directly supervises Department Managers in the Replenishment, Stocking, and Production departments and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints. ZR
