Job Description
The Product Coordinator is responsible for minimizing the organization's overall purchasing costs without compromising quality or reliability of supply. They will contribute to the development of the organization's overall supply and logistics strategy. Also, they will identify, evaluate, and capitalize on opportunities to reduce purchasing costs by improving the organization's buying patterns and supply channels.
Responsibilities
* Maintain comprehensive knowledge of and ensure compliance with relevant regularity rules and standards including: OSHA, Department of Labor, Health and Sanitation, FDA, Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-A general understanding of numerical analysis.
* Devise new layouts with equipment, fixtures, and store design.
* Comply with all occupational safety and health regulations.
* Train and mentor Associate Coordinators and in store Team Members.
* Sustain and elevate the level of knowledge/awareness of relevant competitors and industry trends.
* Coordinates training and support for new Team Leaders.
* Develop product mix in all teams reflective of regional/local business needs including new item/vendors and innovative new programs including new product procurement and development.
* Develop merchandising systems and procedures for stores including new store merchandising.
* Visit stores and develop/refine current execution of merchandising plan.
* Develop programs specifically designed to promote Prepared Food products through product knowledge, sales training, and excellent customer service.
* Coordinate in-store training for all kitchen team members as well as other perishable department guidance for oven ready sets.
* Train TMs how to merchandise and display hot and cold food.
* Maintain current health code standards and practices.
* Complete reports and submits on time. Reviews and monitors scheduling, purchases, and all other expenses regularly to ensure teams' expenses are within budget.
* Work together with other Store Team Leaders and Associate Coordinators to achieve regional and company goals. Communicates, represents, and upholds Whole Foods Market values and business philosophy to customers, Team Members and vendors.
* Communicate clear and consistent expectations of all Team Memberu2019s job performance.
* Build and sustain a positive work environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
