Job Summary

The Training & Instructional Design Manager is responsible for managing learning initiatives within Express Scripts Specialty Distribution Services (ESSDS), including the strategic alignment of the learning function for the groups goals and objectives, training development and implementation, and assessing its outcomes. The Manager will proactively consult with ESSDS leadership regarding employee training requirements, identify and monitor learning needs in the organization, design, plan, and implement training programs, and develop training assets, resources, and standard operating procedures to fulfill those needs.

Essential Functions

* Identifies and assesses future and current training needs and drives suitable training initiatives while obtaining stakeholder support for imperative training initiatives

* Designs overall and role-specific training and development plans

* Works across departments to up-train employees in both their specific role and function and the overall needs of the business

* Manages the team of learning professionals required to develop, manage, and deliver training

* Assesses learning teams skills, performance, and productivity to identify areas of improvement

* Plans, distributes and monitors teams work assignments, evaluates and provides feedback on work performance, and motivates, develops and coaches team members

* Provides formal design and development activities for eLearning courses, job specific curriculum, and large training projects

* Collaborates with subject matter experts and stakeholders to develop and edit online, instructor-led, and self-paced learning material, content, and assessment tools

* Recommends method for delivery such as instructor-led, eLearning, blended, or other media taking into account audience, business needs, and requirements

* Maintains an extensive knowledge of instructional design theory, learning principles, and the full training cycle

* Maintains an understanding of training trends, developments, and best practices

Computer or Other Skills:

* Proficient knowledge of MS Office and Articulate 360 required

* Expert in the full training cycle and adult learning techniques required

* Extensive experience in conducting needs analysis and operations applications functionality required

* Excellent presentation and communication skills required

* Excellent internal and external customer service skills required

* Strong organizational skills including project management and attention to detail required

* Experience managing complex operational work units required.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience

* Minimum of 5+ years of training experience, instructional design role, learning consultant, or related role

* Minimum of additional 3+ years of management experience

* Experience designing and implementing curricula required

* Previous experience in healthcare preferred

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
