Adaptive Optics Associates Xinetics (AOA Xinetics), a wholly-owned Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Payload and Ground Systems Division Business Venture, is currently seeking an Additive Manufacturing Technician 3 to support Xinetics manufacturing/production activities in Devens MA.

Overview
Reporting to the Precision Structures Production Manager, the Additive Manufacturing Technician 3 will be responsible for the support and execution of 3D printing technology for production of silicon carbide products. You will have the ability to handle fragile components during the build process, be responsible for cleaning and maintaining all operating printing equipment and the work cell area, curing and de-powdering of products, and have the ability to operate other machine tools as required.
Responsibilities
* Set up and operate the additive manufacturing printer to produce silicon carbide ceramic parts to exacting tolerances and dimensions
* Will take set-up programs generated from Manufacturing Engineering, load them into the printer and initiate/monitor/complete the printing cycle
* Conduct machine set-ups, loading blended powders/binders/cleaners, insuring/maintaining proper print head operation, loading and unloading of job boxes
* Conduct product curing and extract components
* Perform post-processing and finishing of 3D printed parts using hand tools
* Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications with the ability to think in 3 dimensions
* Verify print runs by evaluating witness coupons with each run for proper form and density
* Use a variety of hand tools and precision measuring instruments
* Partner with Engineering and Maintenance to determine material, parts, and equipment required
* Maintain a clean and safe work cell by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
* Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and production needs
* Document actions by completing production work instructions
* Develop work skills and knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications, industry affiliations, etc.
* Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Basic Qualifications
* Associates Degree in Precision Machining (preferred); HS Diploma/Equivalent required
* 5+ years of related work experience
* Ability to work a flexible work schedule as required to support print cycles; including overtime and weekends
* Able to read and interpret drawings, blue prints and schematics
* Experience with basic hand tools
* Detail oriented, ability to work independently, and excellent verbal/written communication skills
* Intermediate Advanced CAD/CAM 3D engineering modeling software skills (e.g. Mastercam, SURFCAM or similar)
* Basic - Intermediate MS Office skills
* US Citizenship is a requirement for employment
* Ability to obtain a Secret or Top Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
* 4 years additional precision CNC machining education (e.g. 4yr degree, certifications, OTJ specialized training, etc.)
* Experience machining ceramic materials
* Proficient in ASME Y14.5-2009, Dimensioning and Tolerancing
* Quality Control and Continuous Improvement (Lean) Methodologies
* Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance
Physical Requirements
* Ability to lift up to 50lbs
* Ability to stand, sit, walk and bend for long periods of time
* Exposure to dust and ceramic powders will require occasional use of a respirator
