Job Description: Research Software Engineer to work at Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) customer site on Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. The Research Software Engineer will contribute to the Mission Planning and Debrief (MP&D;) research and development in AFRL's Warfighter Readiness Training Division. This work digitizes mission planning and mission debriefing content and incorporates AI agents to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of planning and debriefing in training exercise and future operations.

Essential Functions:

Basic Qualifications.

* Have a Bachelor's Degree with two (2) years' experience, or a Master's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cognitive Science, Data Science, or related field.
* Have 2+ years' experience in challenging applied domains
* Be proficient with Python, Machine Learning Algorithms, Git, MySQL Workbench
* Be proficient with Node Framework (React, Angular)
* Have experience with sending/receiving requests through RESTful API
* Be a US Citizen. NO non-citizens will be considered.
* Be capable of obtaining a DOD Secret Security Clearance, at a minimum.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working/developing in research environments
* Experience with Tensorflow, Deep Reinforcement Learning, Symbolic AI, linear algorithms/optimization

Clearance Level Required:

None (initially); ability to acquire Secret clearance may be required
